Trafford College is one of the leading providers of education and training in Manchester, offering quality, responsive provision which meets the needs of young people, adults, and employers alike. The College has invested £50m over the past few years in world-class buildings and facilities. Our new £15million STEM centre opened its doors in 2013, providing the opportunity to ensure that Trafford and Greater Manchester stay at the forefront of Science and Technology innovation. Some of the key features of the new build include world class Engineering and Motor Vehicle workshops, cutting edge Science laboratories, modern classrooms with advanced technology, as well as a specialist Green Room for the latest renewable energy resources.

Our success rates and numerous accolades are testament to our success. In recognition of its extensive provision, the College has been awarded National Skills Academy Status in 4 industry sectors: Retail, Financial Services, Hospitality, Sport & Active Leisure. Accolades over the years include a Gold Award for the delivery of Careers and Guidance, an AoC Beacon Award for Widening Participation to Lifelong Learning, an Inspiring Learning Project Award for our work with Supported Learning students, and first place ranking in this year’s National Student Survey with 100% satisfaction ratings.

The College has approximately 11,000 students, made up of 3,000 young people (aged 16-19) and 8,000 adults, full and part time. Young people leaving school can choose from traditional academic courses such as A Levels, or vocational courses such as Apprenticeships; adults can take up learning for the first time or enhance their career with higher level qualifications delivered in partnership with local universities, and employers can use the College’s business training unit to help up skill their employees.
