UCEN Manchester

We are one of the largest organisations of our kind in Europe. We have around 5,000 employees working across more than 20 locations providing learning and skills to over 80,000 learners and 3,000 employers across the UK.

Quality is our number one priority and we are committed to a major programme of quality improvement to support all of our learners and employers and to provide the foundation for the growth opportunities.

We strongly believe that the learner should be at the heart of everything we do. We’re committed to improving the lives, employability and economic situation of all individuals, by giving them access to the best training, education and employment opportunities, whatever their background. By doing so we aim to contribute to local and national economic growth.

We’re increasing our already significant apprenticeships and are developing higher level apprenticeships which will provide a vital work-based progression route to higher levels of study for employed learners.

We offer programmes for unemployed people and those not in education, employment or training (NEET), and through the school leavers award we provide financial support for some young people. Our priority skills programmes ensure that learners achieve the skills required to progress into employment.

We work with small businesses and large international corporations to develop the skills of their employees to improve business performance and productivity. We also work in close partnership with awarding and statutory bodies, universities and city partners in Manchester and nationally.

Our growing higher education and degree programmes further support our view that access to high level training and education should be available to all irrespective of background. Furthermore we have a national profile in professional learning and qualifications under our MOL brand.

Nationally, we are also the market leader in offender learning. We teach and train offenders in prisons and young offender institutions across many regions of the UK.
