Southport College
Southport College is the leading provider of vocational courses in the area.

The College continually invests in facilities for staff and students. Over the last 11 years £16.8 million has been invested in our new library learning centres, student restaurant, re-designed art block, university centre, Tony Leigh building and a photo-voltaic roof to help offset our carbon footprint.
The summer of 2014 saw a £2.6 million refurbishment of our Tony Leigh building take place which now includes some of the best childcare and health & social care learning spaces in the region, modern hair & beauty salons, redesigned student restaurants and enhanced customer facilities.
The College has provided training for over 650 Apprentices in the last four years. We work with global businesses such as Ramada Jarvis and Stork Thermal to improve the skills of their workforce. Our training supported Jessica Oates to win Apprentice of the Year and Ramada Plaza Southport to win Apprentice Employer of the Year for the Liverpool City Regionin 2013.
Our advanced Level 3 courses give students a qualification which allows them to apply to university or move straight in to employment. Last year Level 3 students left us to join 40 different universities to study over 60 unique higher education courses. Level 3 students also took up roles in aerospace, childcare, engineering, the uniformed services and the hospitality industry to name but a few.
Our purpose built University Centre opened its doors in September 2012 providing the local community with a range of Higher Education courses. A partnership with the University of Chester now means students can study for a degree in Southport for the first time.
